Hi all
just read of renunciation of orders by clerics who experience dissonance with TEC. Isn't there something in ordination vows about the doctrine, discipline and worship of TEC? Where is the justice for any of us when some of us choose to walk away instead of engage productively and thoughtfully in discourse with one another? Did Jesus walk away from controversy or confrontation?
At a conference in Spain, 2007, American and African Anglican bishops met to map a way forward to doing mission together, agreeing to disagree. I had several powerful conversations with persons who did not "approve" of my ordination as a woman presbyter, but were willing to talk to and with me about our cultural differences and more.
How do we let go of our ego wounds and work for peace and justice, equality of all? Can we invest in a mutuality of healing and fiery desire to be one church, one body of Christ? I think we can.
